Science, Explained by a Scientist
Science is full of great stories. They just don’t always reach the people they’re about.
Scientific Nuggets breaks those stories down in three ways:
- The news: what the latest health and medical breakthroughs actually mean for you
- The history: the discoveries, mistakes, and people behind the science we take for granted
- The questions: clear answers to the things you’ve always wondered.
About me
I’m Pamela Penawou, a Chemistry PhD candidate designing radioactive tracers for PET imaging, the medical scans that let doctors see disease at the molecular level. I’m also a first author in the Canadian Journal of Chemistry.
I first launched Scientific Nuggets in 2019 because I believe good science communication shouldn’t require a PhD to understand. Now, after years of writing for journals, I’m starting fresh with a new focus: making science something everyone can enjoy, through news, history, and everyday questions broken down for curious minds.
Work with me!
I’m available for medical writing and science communication projects, including plain language summaries, educational and conference materials, manuscripts, and health articles.
Got a question? Send it my way. It could become the next nugget.
